My Story…
I’m running the 2026 Calgary Half Marathon in support of CMV Canada, an organization near and dear to me, and I would be grateful for your support!
I’ve known the team at CMV Canada for nearly a decade and have witnessed firsthand the remarkable and growing impact this charity has had across Canada in raising awareness of congenital CMV - the leading infectious cause of childhood disabilities, yet one most parents have never heard of.
CMV Canada supports families navigating an often-unexpected diagnosis, advocates for greater awareness and newborn screening, and helps fund research for the most common infection passed from mother to baby during pregnancy.
This year I’ll be running at a slower pace than races past, but much like CMV Canada, I’m determined to keep moving forward one step at a time. Every donation (none too small!) helps support families affected by congenital CMV and brings us closer to greater awareness, earlier detection, and healthier outcomes for children across Canada.
Thanks for the support!
Jess
