It has been 5 years since I've ran a long distance race, and this one is close to my heart. I'm running the Calgary Half Marathon in May of 2026 to support the Calgary Children's Hospital Foundation with team Strong like Sloane, and what's extra special is that my daughter is running her second half marathon. I think about Sloane and many children like her, and it gives me hope that their parents will get to run this distance with them one day (or whatever their jam is if they don't want to run.)
