My Story…
The Calgary Marathon this year was different for me. As a Trellis employee, I believe in our mission and our vision. That part is easy. What became clear however, is that I am in a position where I am now seeing life from a different angle, a different side.
Roles for an actor son.
A child for our second son.
A new home for our daughter.
These can be considered regular life moments. But not for everyone. I understand more fully that barriers are real.
Staying the course when your dream has barriers is hard.
Being a good parent and partner takes energy.
Meeting life goals are tricky.
Our three children and their partners have parents who will always go to the moon and back for them. We do not have endless financial resources. We do have endless love and time for them, and I do not take this for granted.
That is why, this year I am grateful to have been able to participate.
The 5k+ walk was good. From our door to our child’s new home. And the future holds promise.
I wish and want this for others too.
Thanks to everyone who has supported us, and the myriad of others doing good work in the city and beyond.

Help Me Make a Difference with Trellis Society
This year, I’m proud to participate in the Calgary Marathon in support of Trellis Society, an organization dedicated to creating a community where everyone can flourish. Trellis walks alongside individuals, youth and families as they overcome challenges and grow in their own way.
Every dollar I raise will go directly toward helping people access the supports they need, whether it’s housing stability, parenting guidance, affordable therapy, or education and employment resources.
With your help, we can:
- Provide critical resources for families facing tough times.
- Empower young people with the skills and support they need to thrive.
- Build strong, connected communities where everyone has the opportunity to succeed.
