My Story…

Hi! My name is Laura Groeneweg. I am excited to be running with Team USO at the Twin Cities 5K, Oct 3, 2026!

The USO’s mission—to keep service members and their families connected throughout their service—means so much to me personally. My husband has served in the Minnesota National Guard for 24 years, and throughout my own career I’ve had the privilege of working with military families both overseas and here in Minnesota. I’ve seen firsthand how much support, stability, and community can mean during times of transition, deployment, or uncertainty.

I have been inspired by the other team members on Team USO, many who are service members and who have been deployed and experienced the comfort, connection and distraction that USO centers, programs and airport lounges worldwide have provided. I am proud of the network and connection USO provides.
