My Story…
Our daughter, LaMae, passed away on February 23, 2022, at just 15 months old from Sudden Unexplained Death in Childhood (SUDC). Like many, we had never heard of SUDC until it touched our lives. SUDC is a rare category of death in children aged 1 to 18 that remains unexplained even after thorough investigations, including an autopsy. Most often, a healthy child goes to sleep and never wakes up. In LaMae’s case, she was happy and alert one moment and unresponsive the next. Tragically, SUDC remains largely unknown—not only to the general public but even to many medical professionals.
