My Story...
This year, I'm running the Twin Cities 10 Mile to support Tanzania Life Project, a cause that has been part of our family for many years. The organization was founded by my wife's grandparents, Jim & Katie Vanderheyden.
A few years ago, my wife, our oldest daughter, and I traveled to Tanzania, where we spent time in the villages and witnessed firsthand the incredible joy that access to clean water brings to people experiencing it for the first time.
For most of us, clean water is something we rarely think about because it's always there. For the families now served by Tanzania Life Project, clean water is truly life-changing.
Our family has been supporting the mission for many years and it's amazing to see the number of lives Jim & Katie's vision has touched. Sharing this experience with our oldest daughter made it even more meaningful, as another generation witnessed the lasting impact that sustainable clean water has on families and communities.
Every mile I run is dedicated to carrying that mission forward and helping bring the life-changing gift of clean water to even more people.
Description
I'm a member of the Tanzania Life Project team and running (and/or walking) a race as part of the Medtronic Twin Cities Marathon Weekend to help bring clean water access to communities in Tanzania.
Access to clean water changes everything—health, education, and opportunity for children and families. Together through Tanzania Life Project, we’re helping make that possible.
Every mile we run and every dollar raised goes toward sustainable clean water solutions, hygiene education, and human rights governance that empowers women and girls to overcome societal barriers that limit their opportunities. That's creating lasting impact!
Join our team or donate to support a runner and be part of something bigger than the race.
