My Story…
This October, I’ll be running the Twin Cities Marathon to support Hennepin Healthcare Foundation and give back to an organization that cared for me when I needed it most.
Last year during the 2025 Twin Cities Marathon, I ended my race in the back of an ambulance instead of the finish line. After pushing my limits in unusual heat, I fell unconscious and suffered heat stroke. I’m incredibly grateful to the runners and spectators who stopped to help and to the EMS and hospital teams at Hennepin Healthcare who responded quickly and helped me recover safely.
As I prepare to run my first marathon since that experience, I’ve been thinking about how impactful that care was to me and how many people rely on that support every day.
Through Hennepin Healthcare Foundation, donations help provide critical support for patients and families facing difficult circumstances, including transportation, medications, food assistance, clothing, and other basic needs that insurance often doesn’t cover.
I believe in serving others and caring for those in need. Supporting this fundraiser is one way I can give back for the care I received and help extend that same hope and compassion to others. Thank you for considering a gift and for being part of this journey with me.

Description
Hennepin Healthcare Foundation dedicates itself to the great purpose of healing and enriching life in our community. We do not do this alone, but through the partnership of thousands of people who give in different ways, driven to support an organization that offers exceptional healthcare without exception. Our unique position of being Minnesota's largest level one trauma center, safety net, and public teaching hospital offers innovative ways to influence the health of our community. Most people don't realize that Hennepin County funding for Hennepin Healthcare accounts for less than 3% of its annual budget, providing numerous opportunities for philanthropy to make an impact. Generosity removes barriers to healthcare access, enhances the patient and family experience, and advances efforts in medical education, clinical research, and community health.
Hennepin Healthcare Foundation was established in 2009, as a tax exempt, nonprofit organization governed by a Board of Directors. We are listed on GuideStar.
