My Story…
This October, I’ll be running the Twin Cities Marathon with a purpose that means a lot to me. I’m raising funds for Hennepin Healthcare Foundation, an organization that made a profound difference in my life when I needed it most.
Last fall, during the 2025 Twin Cities Marathon, I suffered heat stroke and passed out while pushing for a Boston Marathon qualifying time in unusually hot conditions. I was unconscious until I experienced the quick response and excellent care from the team at Hennepin Healthcare. Thanks to the team and the runners and spectators who called emergency services, I was able to recover safely.
As I prepare to run my first marathon since that experience, I’m honored to support Hennepin Healthcare Foundation. Donations help provide critical support for patients and families facing difficult circumstances, including transportation, medications, food assistance, clothing, and other basic needs that insurance often doesn’t cover.
I believe in serving others and caring for those in need. Supporting this fundraiser is one way I can give back for the care I received and help extend that same hope and compassion to others. Thank you for considering a gift and for being part of this journey with me.

Our unique position of being Minnesota's largest level one trauma center, safety net, and public teaching hospital offers innovative ways to influence the health of our community. Most people don't realize that Hennepin County funding for Hennepin Healthcare accounts for less than 3% of its annual budget, providing numerous opportunities for philanthropy to make an impact. Generosity removes barriers to healthcare access, enhances the patient and family experience, and advances efforts in medical education, clinical research, and community health.
