My Story…

Five years ago, at 38 years old, I was diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer after what we believed was a benign mass on my liver turned out to be cancer.

Since then, I have undergone surgeries, treatments, scans, and the emotional weight that comes with living with a disease that still takes far too many lives every year.

But I have also experienced something else: hope.

Hope through research.
Hope through innovation.
Hope through physicians and scientists who refuse to stop pushing forward.

I am currently no evidence of disease, and I know how fortunate that is. I also know that progress like this only happens because people continue funding research and demanding better options for patients living with metastatic breast cancer.

That is why I am running the Twin Cities 10 Mile.

Not because it will be easy.
Not because cancer magically made me stronger.
But because I am grateful to still be here. Grateful for more time with my husband, my four children — Cooper, Parker, Drew, and Peyton — and the life I love.

Every mile is for the people we have lost, the families still living scan-to-scan, and the patients waiting for the next breakthrough.

Through vraniCURE, every dollar raised helps fund metastatic breast cancer research at the University of Minnesota, supporting innovative work focused on giving patients more options, more time, and ultimately, a future where no one has to fear this disease.

Thank you for supporting this mission and running alongside us.

Research is the way forward — and we will keep showing up until it’s cured.
