My Story...

Why do I want to run? I guess because I can. I can’t actually run. I’d call it more of a, what do they say, walk/jog, and I’m envisioning more of a swalk (sweat/walk). I have horrible arthritis in both knees and used to jog and then stopped and recently I was like I’m going to start again and see how it goes, so far so good. I usually go on a track to be kind to myself. About a week ago I thought about doing a 5k as my daughter just did her first one and when I heard about this opportunity for a cause I already adore, I said, “I’m in.”

My biggest “why” is: I (we) have so much, and whatever I can do to help someone else, I want to do that. Life is short. I want to help others however I can. I am grateful to not worry about clean water as MUCH of the world does. Helping promote the issue AND a solution is why I swalk/swog/srun!

Description

I'm a member of the Tanzania Life Project team and running (and/or walking) a race as part of the Medtronic Twin Cities Marathon Weekend to help bring clean water access to communities in Tanzania.

Access to clean water changes everything—health, education, and opportunity for children and families. Together through Tanzania Life Project, we’re helping make that possible.

Every mile we run and every dollar raised goes toward sustainable clean water solutions, hygiene education, and human rights governance that empowers women and girls to overcome societal barriers that limit their opportunities.  That's creating lasting impact!

Join our team or donate to support a runner and be part of something bigger than the race.
