Help Tera raise money

2026 will be my fourth time running the Banff Half Marathon, and my second year running for #TeamYWCA!

Taking part in this fundraiser is especially meaningful to me because it brings together two things I care deeply about: supporting an organization I have so much respect for and participating in an activity that has been a consistent thread throughout my life, shaping my sense of community, identity, and well-being.

I’m proud to be joining #TeamYWCA again this year because I truly believe in the work the YWCA does on the ground here in the Bow Valley. Supporting women and vulnerable populations, along with preventative education for youth, are causes I deeply care about. With a young daughter of my own, these causes feel even more personal and important to me, and I’m grateful for the opportunity to support work that helps build a stronger, safer community.

Banff is where I first fell in love with running and trail running more than a decade ago, so being able to run here in support of a cause I care about feels especially close to home. Over the years, running has been a grounding force in my life. It has helped me navigate challenges, work toward big goals, deepen friendships, and build meaningful connections within the wider community. It has been the source of some of my biggest life milestones, and it has also carried me through some pivotal chapters.

From first discovering trail running here, to completing my first and only full marathon with my sister in 2015, to running the Rockwall in 2022, to regaining confidence in running through early motherhood, each chapter has meant something different, and each one has reminded me how much running gives back to me.
