My Story…
I'm running for TeamYWCA!
What started as me committing to running a half marathon for YWCA Banff unfortunately became a 10km due to injury (although never say never...) Every step still supports the vital work they do for women in Banff. Race day is June 14, so plenty of carb loading work to be done before then.
I believe in creating spaces where people feel seen, supported, and safe. YWCA Banff does exactly that - they quietly show up every day, offering support to people who need it most. They root their work in the knowledge that gender equity is a basic human right and adopt a women-centered approach to achieve healthier and more prosperous communities. I've experienced first hand the amazing things they do, and I'm proud to help uplift this work by running for TeamYWCA!
If you’re able to donate, you’re not just encouraging my attempt at an average run - you’re supporting safety, empowerment and real change for women. If a donation isn’t doable for you at the moment, please know there are many other ways to be part of this - such as spreading the word, cheering from near or far, or sending messages like “why are even you doing this", "if you fall I'll pause your Strava" or "don't forget your post run croissant(s)!" are just as powerful and so very appreciated.
Thank you for being part of this adventure!
