~ 2026 POINT TO LA POINTE 2.1 MILE OPEN WATER SWIM RACE ~
Hello!
I will be swimming the Point to La Pointe 2.1 mile open water swim race in Lake Superior this August and I could use your help!
I am swimming to raise funds for the Bayfield Recreation Center. This is the biggest fundraiser for the rec center. The funds raised go directly to help keep the rec center operating and helps provide scholarships to families and individuals in need. The rec center has the only 25 meter pool in a 70 miles radius. It provides training for the Fire Dept, EMS services, lifeguarding, Rescue Readiness and more. It is a vital part of the small community of Bayfield, Wisconsin.
The Ojibwe call Lake Superior Gitchigami, or “Great Sea,” and it truly is a great sea. It is the biggest freshwater lake in the world! For over 40 years I have been swimming in Lake Superior. This August will mark my sixth Point to La Pointe swim race. I hope you can help me reach my goal of raising a minimum of $500 by June 1st. Thank you for your support
