Hi, I’m Monica Retka — a competitive swimmer in a former life who still breaks out the race suit from time to time. This year, I’m tackling the Point to La Pointe swim to celebrate the year I got engaged! It’s a season for reflection, gratitude for the journey so far, and dreaming about a future with my fiancé, Taylor, where health, fitness, and a sense of adventure remain part of our story. Nothing says “bride-to-be” like a 2.1-mile open-water swim followed by the champagne. For me, I love honoring the journey, the community, and the joy of chasing something a little extraordinary.
