Description
Hello!
This May, I’m participating in the PUMA Toronto Women’s Spring 10K/5K to raise awareness and critical funds for the Pediatric Oncology Group of Ontario (POGO)—an organization that walks alongside families at every stage of this journey.
A childhood cancer diagnosis is often just the beginning of a long and complex journey—one that doesn’t necessarily end when treatment does.
Even when a child is declared cancer-free, the physical, emotional, and everyday challenges can continue long after. That’s why your support makes such a difference.
What your support helps make possible:
- Relief for families – Covering out-of-pocket costs like travel and meals, so parents can focus on their child—not the bills.
- Support for survivors – One-on-one help with school and career planning when cancer or treatment makes learning harder.
- Hope through research – Fueling studies that improve care, survivorship, and quality of life—today and for the future.
Why it matters:
When Tim was diagnosed with cancer as a teen, he faced amputation and ongoing treatment far from home. With help from POGO, he got the support he needed to attend school, build friendships, and imagine a future where he helps others.
“I’ve overcome so much, and I’m not giving up. One day I’ll ride my scooter, finish high school, and become a nurse—just like my mom.” – Tim
