I believe that music is magic in real life. It is often difficult to explain exactly why or how a piece of music touches us, but it actually can touch us. It can move the needle. It can transform, mobilize, and materialize. In an era of growing uncertainty and austerity, we need that magic. We need people to teach it, to harness it, and to believe in it.

This year, Nova Scotia cut the Artists in Schools program that funded non-profits like Debut Atlantic to do essential outreach work through their "Debut Goes to School" Program. Support our efforts to fund this at-risk program, help bring professional music to schools across Nova Scotia, and join our campaign to make as LOUD OF A RACKET AS WE CAN! 

Five years ago, I could never have dreamed of running a half-marathon, let alone of being a musician. Today, I'm training to do both. I'm here because of the Nova Scotia Arts community, and I believe in our ability to make magic happen. Every child deserves to be moved by music. Let's give'r!
