My Story…
Providing opportunities for students to meet artists, understand their process and see their work is crucial to encouraging engagement with the world around them and their understanding of what is possible.
I 'played' cello as an elementary student for a whole year. Or, rather, I tried to get used to lugging an instrument taller than me around lol. Mostly music has always been an important part of my life as a listener. Music is an essential part of living; a pick-me-up when needed, at times inspiring, and at others, just an easy presence. But most especially, music is a source of the "shivers" - that feeling along your arms, the nape of your neck and up through your scalp - when music resonates with your emotional, somatic and synaptic core. Magic!
