Help mary raise money

When I was 4 years old my Grandpa awarded me with a dollar bill for swimming across King Edward Bay.  It arrived in the mail along with a congratulatory letter suggesting that perhaps one day I might be able to swim a mile.  It was a clever strategy to impress upon my siblings and me the importance of this life saving skill, especially since we spent our entire summers next to and in the ocean. Almost 60 years later I channel this joy of swimming into SwimBowen, raising funds for our friends and neighbours undergoing cancer treatment. I finish my swims spent, yet buoyed by what can be achieved with each roll, pull and exhale.  Dear Grandpa, thank you for the inspiration.
