My Story
This winter, I’m doing something that honestly feels a little outside my comfort zone…
I’m running an 8K.
And if you know me, you know I wouldn’t exactly call myself “a runner.” But maybe that’s the point.
I’ve been inspired by friends of mine who have run this race for the past few years. Watching their commitment in showing up year after year, in the cold, for something bigger than themselves stirred something in me. So instead of staying comfortable, I decided to say yes to the challenge!
This race is my way of pushing myself to try something new. To build discipline. To strengthen my body. To see what happens when I commit to something that feels hard.
And I’m not running alone. I’m running on Team Light, and together we’re raising money for the Parkdale Community Foodbank, supporting individuals and families who are facing food insecurity and need access to reliable, nourishing meals.
Every training run reminds me that discomfort is temporary, but the impact we make for others can last.
If you feel called to support this journey, I would be so grateful for your donation. Your contribution directly helps people in need access food and essential resources in their community.
And who knows… maybe by the end of this, I’ll officially be able to call myself a runner.
Thank you for being part of this with me. 💛
