Help Alice raise money

As part of the Knee Knacker race in 2025, I raised funds through a bottle drive for North Shore Rescue, a volunteer community-based search and rescue service.  I decided to continue my fundraising post-race and so for the last 44 weeks (since last August!), I started walking around my neighborhood and collected refundable beverage containers on garbage day.  What started out as passive activity became a race against what I termed professional binners; regulars who drove to my neighbourhood, left the engine running while jumping out to collect their prize.  They preferred aluminum cans leaving behind bottles (bulky & heavy) and milk containers (bulky & stinky) which made my hauls awkward to carry back to my house.

Including recycling from family, friends, neighbours and fellow Knee Knackers, I am happy and proud to announce that I have collected over 15,000 containers to-date.  Fundraising is open till end of June so I’m not done yet!
