Red Stag Rotorua Marathon 2026 - Volunteering
We have an exciting event to look forward to on Saturday 2nd May. Thank you for your interest in assisting with the delivery of the event. Volunteers are an integral part of the event experience that our participants look forward to.
Please complete the form to express your interest in volunteering for the 2026 Red Stag Rotorua Marathon.
You will be able to indicate your preferred role/s on the form. We will confirm closer to the event which role/s and shifts that you will be volunteering in.
Volunteers supporting in the roles below must be atleast 18 years old on the day of the shift.

Registration prep | Sorting bibs, pre-packing participant bags | Thursday 30 April (afternoon) |
Mini Marathon Support | Setting up course, handing out medals | Friday 1st May (morning) |
Registration & Expo Support | Welcoming & registering participants (reasonable tech skills required) | Friday 2nd May (morning or afternoon shift) |
Finish line set up | Helping put up branding on finish chute when the road closes | Saturday 3rd May (very early morning (approx 5.30am start. Only a short shift (about 2 hours) |
Finish line support | Supporting the operation of the Pure Electrolyte Hydration Station and handing out medals as participants cross the finish line | Saturday 3rd May (morning or afternoon shift) |
Gear bag collection | Sorting gear bags at the finish line as the arrive from the start lines and handing them out to participants | Saturday 3rd May (morning or afternoon shift) |
All volunteers will receive:
- Complimentary volunteer t-shirt
- Meal and/or refreshments during your shift (depending on how long your shift is)
- All training required to perform your role
- A fantastic day supporting the Red Stag Rotorua Marathon 2026!
