Help Me Support Conservation!

From many years working in conservation, I've realized that the greatest power we hold is in shared community. I hope that this race empowers people to join in a night of laughter and connection, lifting spirits as we celebrate creating lasting change, and preserve the vital species that inhabit this abundant and vivid world in which we live

Description

I’m raising funds for the Phoenix Zoo’s conservation programs! This year’s race features a special focus on sringsnails — small but mighty creatures that play an important role in keeping desert waters healthy.

Springsnails are tiny aquatic snails, no bigger than a grain of rice, that live in springs and seeps across the western United States. Despite their size, they help control algae, maintain water quality, and recycle nutrients that other wildlife depend on. The Phoenix Zoo works with three Arizona species — the San Bernardino springsnail, the Huachuca springsnail, and the Quitobaquito tryonia — all of which face serious threats from groundwater loss, habitat damage, invasive species and wildfire impacts.

Funds raised through this event support the Phoenix Zoo’s ongoing conservation efforts for 11 native Arizona species. Through the Arthur L. and Elaine V. Johnson Conservation Center, Zoo scientists breed and raise animals for release, conduct research, and work with partners to restore and protect fragile habitats.

Every dollar helps make a difference for Arizona’s wildlife, from tiny springsnails to some of the state’s most iconic species. Please consider donating or sharing my page: [fundraising link]
