Raise money for YMCA Northern Alberta
YMCA of Northern Alberta (YMCA) is a charity that ignites people’s potential. The YMCA has operated in Edmonton since 1907, Wood Buffalo since 1975, Grande Prairie since 2007, and Red Deer since 2019. Each year, the YMCA touches the lives of over 120,000 individuals across four regions through over 35 cost-free community programs, 57 childcare locations, four health, fitness and aquatics centres, and three community centres. The YMCA, through our Strong Kids, Strong Communities campaign, provides over $1,100,000 in subsidies annually for individuals and families with low incomes to participate in its programs and services. No one is turned away because an inability to pay. Approximately one of every five members and participants access memberships, programs and services through the generosity of community support. The YMCA serves and supports diverse populations including Indigenous and ethnocultural communities, 2SLGTBQIA+ and BIPOC individuals, and newcomers to Canada. Through direct and partner support, the YMCA strives to create a community where everyone can belong and recognize their strengths. The YMCA works closely with families, community agencies, and other stakeholders to provide culturally responsive services that meet the mental, physical, emotional, social and spiritual needs of the communities.
