Mental Health Matters!
Mental Health Matters is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit in Charlotte NC with the primary mission to create awareness for mental health as we believe awareness empowers and supports the community. We raise public awareness through the annual 5K & Festival which also provides an opportunity to explore and engage with numerous resources within our community. We provide financial support to organizations that directly serve our community in Mecklenburg County.
One of our beneficiaries for this year is Psychology For All, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that delivers free counseling services for under-resourced people in the Charlotte-Mecklenburg community through partnerships with diverse, licensed mental health clinicians and referral agencies, while promoting community mental health awareness. In 2025 we raised $5,976.22 and were able to donate $3 per participant to provide a total of $10,000 to PFA.
Our second beneficiary for 2025 is the K9 Responder Foundation which provides trained service dogs and necessary equipment to first responders and veterans at no cost to them. The training is performed by a network of experienced trainers who are all first responders or veterans themselves, allowing service dog recipients to grow into their role as a handler while standing shoulder to shoulder with a peer that comes from a similar walk of life.
