Herricane Winds - A Force of Nature and Nurture!

Established in 2001 by a group of energetic teachers interested in trying something new, Herricane Winds has become a force to be reckoned with - both on the water and in fundraising!

Buoyed by the shared fun and experiences over the years with our current and alumni Winds, our fellow paddlers, and the Ottawa Dragon Boat Community, we are thrilled to be back for our 26th season, once again, committed to friendship, fun, fitness, and fundraising!

Passion, Persistence, and Power" is our mantra this year...both on the water and in our efforts to raise funds for programs that help children and families in our community.

We are so grateful for YOU, our amazing supporters!!! Your interest, encouragement and fundraising support of our crew is so appreciated! Your generous donations to Herricane Winds over the years have helped raise over $165000 for the Ottawa Dragon Boat Festival annual charities!  We thank you all for your support!!! 

We hope we can count on you, again this year, to raise funds for the following charities: 

Boys and Girls Club of Ottawa (Walk This Way program), 

   Nutrition Blocs(Hot Breakfast/Summer Nutrition Program), 

      The Partage Vanier Food Bank, 

          Roger Neilson Children’s Hospice 

              (Young Grievers Camp), and

 Tim Hortons Foundation Camps(Quyon).  

We invite you to come cheer on all the paddlers at the Ottawa Dragon Boat Festival, June 20 and 21 at Mooney's Bay Park!
