Please Help Me Make a Difference Through the 2026 Grape Day 5K

This year, I'm proud to be participating in the Escondido Sunrise Rotary's 16th Annual Grape Day 5K Charity Walk, Run & Stroll on September 5, 2026, and I would be grateful for your support.

The Grape Day 5K is more than just a race. It is our Rotary Club's most important fundraiser, helping us improve lives both locally and around the world. Over the past 16 years, this event has raised more than $1 million to support the National Multiple Sclerosis Society and a wide variety of charitable organizations and service projects.

Through the generosity of our sponsors and participants, Escondido Sunrise Rotary supports initiatives such as food banks, community health clinics, veterans services, the Boys & Girls Club, Bikes for Kids, Project Mercy, and our annual home-building project for families in need in Baja California. We also support educational and humanitarian projects that create lasting opportunities for people of all ages.

As Superintendent of the Escondido Union High School District, one aspect of this fundraiser is especially meaningful to me. A portion of the proceeds provides Career Technical Education (CTE) scholarships for graduating students in our district. These scholarships help students pursue careers in skilled trades, healthcare, technology, public service, and other high-demand fields as they take the next step toward successful futures. Helping our students access those opportunities is a cause that is very important to me.

You can support this effort by making a donation, joining us for the 5K as a runner, walker, or stroller, or simply sharing this campaign with others. Last year, more than 1,500 participants came together to make a difference, and we're hoping to make an even greater impact this year.
