What started as a way to take care of my mental health has turned into one of the most meaningful traditions of my year.

Seven years ago, in the middle of the uncertainty of 2020, I signed up for the Canada Army Run. What started as a way to stay connected with my Deloitte teammates during COVID quickly became something much bigger.

Today, the Canada Army Run is one of my favourite weekends of the year. Every September, around my birthday, I get to celebrate another year by running in the Army Run alongside an incredible team, all while raising funds for Soldier On and Support Our Troops. It's become a tradition that reminds me how far I've come and why I keep coming back.

Last year, I completed the Sergeant Major's Challenge but fell short of the time goal I had set for myself. Instead of letting that discourage me, it's become my motivation. I've spent the past year training harder, determined to come back stronger and see what I'm capable of.

Running has also continued to be my safe space. It's where I go to clear my mind, work through life's challenges, and remind myself that progress isn't always measured by a finish time. Some years the medals matter; other years, simply showing up does.

This event means so much to me because it brings together personal challenge and the opportunity to support members of the Canadian Armed Forces, Veterans, and their families through Soldier On and Support Our Troops. Every donation helps make a difference, and I'm incredibly grateful for everyone who chooses to support both this cause and my journey.
