My Story…
As many of you know, I've been running the Canada Army Run for several years now, and each time I've been humbled by the generosity of friends and family, especially the RMC Class of '74. Your past support has truly meant the world to those in our military community who've benefited from it.
I'm happy to report that my rare neuroendocrine cancer remains stable, and I feel blessed to be able to continue participating in this worthwhile event. On Sunday, September 20th, I'll be in Ottawa, running the 10 km event with the same purpose: to support our troops, veterans, and their families.
Since 2008, the Canada Army Run has raised over $5 million for Support Our Troops and Soldier On, providing everything from family resiliency programs to rehabilitation and reintegration support for those with physical or mental injuries.
I'm fortunate to have served 22 years in the Canadian Armed Forces without major health consequences. Many of our comrades (and their families) have not been so fortunate, and this is one way we can give back.
If you can, I'd be deeply grateful for any contribution you're able to make this year — no matter the size. Even sharing this message with others helps. Better still, join the team RMC/CMR ‘74 and help make a difference. Friends and family are welcome and there is a virtual option so geography is not an issue. Walkers welcomed. Use Team Code 1234 if joining.
Thank you for standing with me, for standing with our troops, as we support them through this worthy cause.
With gratitude and God's blessing,
Al McLuskie, 9996, RMC Class of 1974
