Help Cyndy raise money

Sunday September 20th will be my 6th 1/2 Marathon in the Canada Army Run held in Ottawa.  

I run in memory of my late brother Raymond Sturgeon. Ray dedicated his life to public service. He joined the Canadian military at the age of 16, which included peacekeeping duties in the Middle East and on the military staff at Canada's Embassy in Moscow. He moved up from a soldier apprentice and entering the ranks as an officer, before retiring as a major. He then began his career as a civilian public servant at the Department of National Defence. Ray then embarked on his third career as a business consultant serving around the world.

Ray was the oldest of 10 children and with all his worldly accomplishments, he never forgot where he came from.

There is nothing more moving than seeing a veteran or member of the military pressing forward--whether walking or running with prostheses, rolling by in a wheelchair, being pushed with care, or walking with invisible wounds that are not as easily seen, participating in the Army Run.

We also keep our nephew Max and his comrades  in our thoughts and prayers as he is also a member of the Canadian Armed Forces 

It is an honour to run/walk alongside members of the military and fellow military supporters. I enjoy walking with and chatting with military members that participate in the run wearing full uniform often carrying a 50lb pack. As we run through the Military Cemetery I will stop and have a visit at my brothers graveside.
