My Story…
When our granddaughter was admitted to the children’s hospital in London, our family entered one of the most difficult seasons of our lives. Thanks to Ronald McDonald House Charities, our daughter and her family were able to stay close to her side — just steps away when she needed them most.
Their support meant more than just a place to sleep. It meant comfort. Stability. Home-cooked meals. A community that understands what families are going through during medical crisis. It meant our family could focus entirely on our little girl.
Our sweet “Sophia Sunshine” has long-segment Hirschsprung’s disease and will require ongoing medical care throughout her life. The journey is not over for her — and for so many other children and families, it is just beginning.
By supporting the Big Red Shoe Run, you are helping ensure that families facing the unimaginable are never alone. You are giving parents the ability to stay close to their hospitalized child. You are providing warmth, compassion, and hope during the toughest time of their lives.
Please help us continue caring for children like Sophia and the families who need support when it matters most.
