People to People Aid Organization Canada

People to People Aid Organization, Canada (P2P) is a volunteer-driven charity founded in 1999 to support orphaned and vulnerable children in Ethiopia. Over the years, P2P has continued its core Orphan Sponsorship Program (OSP)—which provides children with food, shelter, education, and healthcare—while broadening its mission to respond to evolving community needs.

Today, P2P also focuses on mental health advocacy, preventive healthcare, and capacity building within both Ethiopian-Canadian and other underserved communities. A key initiative under this expanded mandate is Sound the Horn (STH)—a youth-led program created in response to the growing mental health challenges faced by young people in the Greater Toronto Area. STH empowers youth through mentorship, peer support, and improved access to essential resources and services.

Guided by a 15-member elected Board of Directors and an Executive Committee, P2P thrives through strong partnerships with community groups, youth organizations, and local media—achieving meaningful impact thanks to the dedication of its volunteers.
