My Story…
Why I’m Running for Rise
I’m taking on this charity run in support of Rise because I believe everyone deserves the opportunity to build a meaningful future, regardless of the challenges they have faced.
Rise is a Canadian charity that helps people living with mental health and addiction challenges pursue entrepreneurship and small business ownership. For many people, mental health challenges can create real barriers to traditional employment and financial independence. Rise offers another path. Through business training, mentorship, a supportive community and access to flexible financing, Rise helps people turn their skills, ideas and determination into an opportunity to build something of their own. The impact is significant. Since 2010, Rise says it has empowered more than 6,000 people as entrepreneurs, supported by hundreds of volunteers, and has provided more than 1,000 loans and $4.4 million in financing to clients across Canada.
What I find particularly powerful about Rise is that it isn't simply about starting businesses. It is about creating opportunity, confidence, financial independence and inclusion for people who may otherwise face barriers to participating fully in our economy and our communities.
That’s why I’m running, and why I’m asking for your support.
Every donation to my run helps Rise give more Canadians the tools, support and opportunity to turn their potential into possibility. If you are able to contribute, I would be incredibly grateful. Together, we can help more people take that first step toward building a business, greater independence and a brighter future.
