My Story…
This October, I’ll be running the TCS Toronto Waterfront Half Marathon in support of the Alzheimer Society of Toronto, in honour and memory of my dad.
My dad passed away this past July after living with dementia, specifically progressive supranuclear palsy. Watching someone you love experience this disease is incredibly difficult not only for them, but also for the family, loved ones and caregivers that are on this journey with them as well.
Running has given me a way to remember my dad, process his loss, and turn that grief into something meaningful. What originally was trying to challenge myself to a goal of running a half marathon, it now feels like another way to carry him with me while supporting a cause that has become deeply personal to my family.
Every donation will support the Alzheimer Society of Toronto and the work they do for people living with dementia, as well as the families and caregivers supporting them.
Whether you’re able to donate, share this page, or simply cheer me on, I truly appreciate the support.
This one’s for you, Dad. ❤️
