My Story…
Last year I ran my first ever race, the TCS Waterfront Half Marathon. My Mom walked more steps that day to support me than she had in any day that year, following her heart surgery. This is a testament to who she is as a person, and who she has always been as my Mom.
"Heart disease and stroke touch nearly every family in Canada" - A statistic I would have been surprised to hear, had it not been at our doorstep.
I started running to honor her journey of strength and resilience and to raise funds for a cause that now resonates so deeply with me; The Heart & Stroke Foundation. This organization works tirelessly to power lifesaving research, advance prevention, recovery and support.
I will run for my Mom.
I will run for every family impacted by heart disease and stroke.
I will run for the incredible healthcare workers who support our loved ones - Shoutout to London University Hospital cardio team!
"For breakthroughs. For recovery. For lives saved."
Thank you in advance for all of your support, and I'll see you at the finish line!
