My Story…
This fall, I'm running the Royal Victoria Marathon to raise funds for the Victoria Hospitals Foundation, and I'd love your support.
I'm running on behalf of UVic's JDC West team, and I'm lucky enough to be one of the Co-Captains of our team this year. JDC West is the largest business competition for students in Western Canada, but outside of the competition, teams are encouraged to make as much of a positive impact on their respective communities as possible.
The Victoria Hospitals Foundation is the charitable partner of Island Health, raising funds for Royal Jubilee Hospital, Victoria General Hospital, and the Gorge Road Health Centre. Every dollar donated goes toward medical equipment, specialized education, and research that helps hospital staff deliver the best possible care to their patients.
As a team, we are proud volunteer partners of the Foundation. Last year, we volunteered at their annual gala, which is one of their biggest fundraising events. Running this marathon for them felt like a natural extension of that partnership, and a personal one too.
My mom spent her career as a nurse with Island Health. Growing up, I saw firsthand how much of an impact public health support had on our community. She worked tirelessly to help all her clients, providing them with resources, education, and support.
Any amount you're able to give makes a real difference. Thank you for your contribution!
