This team is in honour of Valerie Beard who lost her hard fought battle with cancer in January of 2025. She loved the game, and even more so, the people she had because of the game.

Our Team Is Hitting the Ice for Cancer Care Close to Home
We’re proud to be part of the Braestone Winter Classic, a one-of-a-kind pond hockey tournament bringing our community together to raise funds for RVH’s Hudson Regional Cancer Centre.
Our goal? To help ensure that people right here in our region — our families, our friends, our neighbours — have access to world-class, life-saving cancer care without having to travel hours away from home.
Together, we’re part of something special — a community that laces up, skates hard, and gives back so that families across our region can face cancer with hope, strength, and care close to home.
