My Story…
I started my running journey 2 years ago and it has truly changed me life. The Philly Half Marathon was my first half and will always have such a special place in my heart. This year I'm running for team MAF and I look forward to bring awareness and giving back to this amazing foundation!
Description
I’m running Philadelphia Marathon Weekend with Team MAF to support families affected by maternal alloimmunization and HDFN.
Maternal alloimmunization happens when a pregnant person develops antibodies that can attack a baby’s red blood cells. This can lead to hemolytic disease of the fetus and newborn, or HDFN, a serious condition that can cause severe anemia, jaundice, NICU stays, blood transfusions and in the most heartbreaking cases, loss.
The Maternal Alloimmunization Foundation supports families through education, advocacy, care packages, patient resources and community support. Their work helps families feel less alone and helps raise awareness around a condition that too many people have never heard of until they are facing it themselves.
Every mile I run is for these babies and families.
Thank you for supporting my fundraiser and helping MAF protect babies before and after birth.
