My Story…
This November, I’m running the Philadelphia Marathon again. I ran it two years ago and hit sub 4, but this time around, I really wanted these 26.2 miles to mean something more than just trying to beat my old time.
I’m teaming up with Tell Every Amazing Lady® (T.E.A.L.) to help raise awareness for ovarian cancer. Growing up, I saw my mom deal with heavy health issues, and watching the way she handled everything with so much patience and quiet strength completely stuck with me. My mother extremely motivates me and I have a ton of respect for her and for what women push through when life throws serious health curveballs at them. Dedicating this race to her and to honoring that kind of resilience just felt right to me
When I started reading up on T.E.A.L., what really got my attention was finding out there isn't a routine screening test for ovarian cancer and catching it early basically comes down to knowing the subtle signs and listening to your body. Grinding through runs is pretty tough, but using this race to get my friends, family, and strangers actually talking about those warning signs makes every mile worth it.
If you’re able to chip in even just $10 or $25, it goes straight to T.E.A.L.’s awareness work and patient support. Also, if your company does gift matching, submitting your receipt takes two minutes and doubles the donation for free.
Really appreciate anyone taking the time to read this and supporting!
