OMA Foundation

The Ontario Medical Foundation (OMF) was established in 1967 and is the charitable arm of the Ontario Medical Association (OMA). We are uniquely positioned to help advance the health care system. The OMF works towards achieving a more equitable, effective and efficient health-care system in Ontario. The OMF is taking on the challenge to help advance health equity across the province. 

We’re helping unblock the barriers to health care in the following ways:

Enabling better health care outcomes

We are working to help many populations across the province, including: Black, Indigenous and racialized peoples; 2SLGBTQ+ communities; northern and rural/remote communities; women; and seniors .

Ensuring equitable health care

We are addressing social determinants of health and other systemic barriers to improve health care for all. 

Empowering future doctors of Ontario

We provide bursaries to reduce the cost of tuition to increase accessibility to medical school, increase diverse representation and contribute to future health human resources.
