My Story…
It's been over three years since I lost my dear Ma who succumbed to Alzheimer's. Her battle and journey started back in 2013 with mild-cognitive impairment at the young age of 63. By 2015 it became Alzheimer's. We lost her too soon at 73 but we are thankful that she is no longer battling this horrible disease that takes away your dignity and crushes with heartbreak those around you.
My Mother played a big part in my life and during her fight - when time is so precious, robbed our relationship of 14 months where we didn't talk or see each other. Quite common, she accused me of stealing from her. At least at the end - we shared some unforgettable kind and loving moments that I take with me always.
Winnie's Warriors is taking up the reins to raise funds and awareness as there are so many who need the support system and programs like those offered by the Alzheimer Society of Toronto. It is not just for those living with the disease but those who are the caregivers who suffer along on those bad days with the everlasting hope that their loved one can 'get better', or recognize them.
Please help me as I participate in the 2026 Constantine Yorkville Run so that maybe one day, there will be those who will suffer less.

I’m proud to be participating in the 2026 Constantine Yorkville Run in support of the Alzheimer Society of Toronto.
Dementia affects not only individuals, but entire communities. The Alzheimer Society of Toronto provides free programs, education, healthcare navigation, and counselling for people living with dementia and the families and care partners who support them. These essential services are only possible because of generous supporters like you.
This cause is very close to my heart, and your donation — of any amount — will make a real difference in helping families navigate their dementia journey.
