My Story…
On August 10, 2022, Susan Anderson gave her friend Brandon Gerson the gift of life through the selfless act of living organ donation. Brandon had been diagnosed 15 years prior with a rare autoimmune condition that affected his liver and was added to the transplant list earlier that year when all other treatment options had been exhausted. Their surgeries took place at Toronto General Hospital, part of the University Health Network (UHN) and a global centre of excellence for transplant. To celebrate the anniversary of Susan’s gift and Living Donation Week, the pair along with friends, family as well as those touched by transplant are running together to promote awareness of organ donation and to raise funds for the Centre for Living Organ Donation.
