My Story…
I’m proud to participate in the Long Run to Inclusion, an event dedicated to creating workplaces where everyone belongs. This cause is deeply personal to me. I was raised by a mother who used a wheelchair and was a passionate advocate for equity and inclusion. She worked tirelessly with local government and, for a brief time when her body allowed for it, in the workplace to help businesses open their doors to people with disabilities, teaching me the value of creating opportunities for all. Hotel Etico and the Long Run is firmly embedded in this inclusive work.
Running has always been about purpose for me. I began my running journey with the National AIDS Marathon Training Program, combining fitness with fundraising to make a difference. Then I moved from fundraising to marathon mentoring, which was equally amazing. Today, I’m continuing the tradition, running not just for myself, but for a future where inclusion isn’t optional, it’s the norm. A shout out to all my wonderful running friends over the years #Iloverunning!!!!! Thank you for enduring the highs and lows of training with me.
