My Story…
Team ShalooRu is back! And we're locked-in for another spring of long rides and big fundraising goals.
We've been doing this since 2022, and in that time we've raised over $35,000 for BC Cancer — every single dollar going directly to life-saving cancer research in BC. We're proud of that number, and we're not done yet.
This year, we're riding in the Valley GranFondo: 120km through the Fraser Valley. Zoe, our fearless team captain, will set the pace up front while Amit suffers somewhere between 1 and 20km behind her. (It depends on the hills.)
Both of us have lost people we love to cancer. We established our team after Amit’s sister Shalini (Shaloo) and Zoë’s brother from another mother, Rufus, were taken far too early: Team ShalooRu was established in their honour. We keep peddling in their memory and ask for your support to fight this devastating disease..
Our goal this year: $10,000. Cancer touches almost everyone. We ride because we hope that one day, nobody has to go through the suffering and loss anymore.
