My Story…
Marcel was invited into the YMCA 3.5yrs ago as a support dog.
Right from the beginning he LOVED the people there and always greets them with a warm little cuddle.
He sits quietly through Arriba, Stretch & Core, Flow, Barre and Yoga.
He knows exactly when the class is over because the participants come over to play with him. He ADORES the attention and affection and makes everyone he comes in contact with feel special and loved.
Even if a client doesn’t have him in his or her class, they come to greet him walking between classes or sitting in the booster seat by the pool.
He runs to the instructors when they arrive and gives them special cuddles.
He knows the cleaning staff and holds a special place in his heart for them.
We are SO HONOURED that he has been able to come into the College St YMCA to bring such love and joy to everyone!
This year he is heading a team of people to help raise money for youth to go to YMCA Summer Camp. It is our way is saying “THANK YOU” to our community YMCA and bring special attention to it’s acceptance and inclusiveness to the entire community.

I’m participating in this year’s YMCA Charity 5K because I believe every kid deserves the magic of camp, making friends, exploring the outdoors, and creating lifelong memories.
Together, we are raising $500,000 to send over 1,300 kids to experience YMCA camp, where they can build confidence, lifelong friendships, and memories they’ll cherish for years to come.
