My Story
I'm running the Sporting Life 10K to bring healing through happiness — will you join me?
This May, I’m lacing up my running shoes and joining thousands of others on Toronto’s iconic Yonge Street for the Sporting Life 10K. But I’m not just running for the finish line — I’m running for Campfire Circle, a life-changing community that brings joy and healing to kids affected by childhood cancer and serious illness.
Campfire Circle creates unforgettable camp-inspired programs — in hospitals, in the community, and at overnight camps — giving kids a chance to just be kids. To laugh, connect, explore, and heal in ways that medicine alone can’t provide. It's a circle of hope, play, and belonging — and every child deserves to be part of it.
We all want to protect the children in our lives — to give them joy, love, and the freedom to just be little. For families facing the unthinkable, Campfire Circle is a beacon of light. And that’s why I’m asking for your help.
Here’s how you can support:
✅ Donate to my fundraising goal — every dollar goes directly to Campfire Circle’s free year-round programs
✅ Share this page with friends, family, or coworkers
✅ Cheer me on as I train and run on race day!
Together, we can make sure more children get the chance to laugh, play, and feel the healing power of community. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for being part of this journey with me.
With gratitude,
Fab
Description
Bring Joy, Friendship, and Connection to Kids Who Need It Most Every day, thousands of kids across Ontario face cancer or serious illness – and miss out on the moments that make up childhood. Laughter, friendship, and adventure are replaced with hospital visits and isolation. For 42 years, Campfire Circle has brought healing through happiness to kids with cancer or serious illness and their families. Through our in-hospital, community, and overnight camp programs, we create opportunities for children to build friendships and social skills, develop self-confidence and resiliency, and improve their overall well-being. By providing play-based experiences, we empower kids to take back their childhood, regardless of their medical diagnosis. Today, more than 40,000 children in Ontario are living with serious illnesses. With your help, we can reach even more of them. Our goal is to serve 10,000 kids by 2030, and when you donate to the Sporting Life 10K, you join a circle committed to that vision. Your generosity ensures every medically fragile child can experience Campfire Circle’s life-changing programs when they need it most, at no cost to their families. Together, we can grow our circle of care and help deliver healing through happiness to more kids and families across Ontario. |
