My Story…
Friends & family -
This August I’m running the Falmouth Road Race with Team Wonderfund. Falmouth is such a fun and iconic race — it’s only 7 miles but it’s known to be tough! — and I couldn’t be more excited to be using it as an excuse to raise funds for such a worthy cause!
About The Wonderfund
The Wonderfund supports Massachusetts children in foster care by providing the opportunities, experiences, and essentials that every child deserves.
We’ve been supporting The Wonderfund for a few years now during their holiday gift drive. But that’s just one small slice of what they do to try to bring wonder into the lives of children impacted by trauma. The Wonderfund also:
- Provides grants so foster kids can participate in the activities that bring them joy, like soccer camp or music lessons
- Matches donors with REAL holiday wish lists, so kids can get the gift they have their heart set on
- Facilitates free or discounted access to places like the YMCA, Children’s Museum, zoos, festivals and more
The Wonderfund also supplies emergency essentials for children facing home removal, providing comfort and dignity to kids who are often entering foster care with only the clothes on their back.
Here's a bit about how The Wonderfund will put your donation to use:
- A $25 donation can provide school supplies to fill backpacks, helping kids involved with DCF start the school year with the supplies they need to feel prepared and confident.
- A $50 donation can help make the holiday season a bit brighter for kids involved with DCF by providing a holiday gift meant just for them.
- A $100 gift can provide a duffle bag filled with new clothes, pajamas, socks, underwear, hair care products, and a hygiene kit to one child experiencing an emergency home removal in Massachusetts.
- A $500 donation to the Wonderfund can provide an enrichment grant to one child involved with DCF, giving them the opportunity to participate in a sport camp, driver’s ed course, or other activity of their choice. These activities help kids boost confidence, discover passions, and build relationships with trusted adult mentors.
Falmouth is such a fun race. Thank you for supporting my efforts and supporting a cause I care so deeply about!

Here's a very blurry shot of the last time I ran the Falmouth Road Race in 2014. My Garmin was the size of a small calculator, tracking a pace that's a lot slower than what I'm hoping for come 2026!
