Help carly raise money

In September of 2025 we noticed our 3 year old, Chases, legs had a ton of bruises on them. We didn’t initially think anything of it- he’s a wild child who loves to play rough and we figured this was just part of it. After realizing his gums were starting to bleed while brushing his teeth we took him to the pediatrician. Our pediatrician took our concerns very seriously and 2 days later a mychart notification of “lab results ready” revealed a critically low factor 9 level and gave us an unexpected diagnosis of Hemophilia B. 

After meeting with his hematology team and learning more about Hemophilia B the doctors decided to get myself tested after learning a little bit about my health background and bleeding history. 2 weeks after Chase’s diagnosis came mine- a symptomatic carrier of Hemophilia B. The initial shock and anger of Chase’s diagnosis was still fresh and adding another on top of it was overwhelming to say the least. 

After the “why us” thoughts settled in our heads we decided to try and find some resources to support us, possibly find a community of other families dealing with a similar situation, and to learn more about how we can best support Chase to live a full, safe and happy life. This is where we found the New England Hemophilia Association. We are so grateful to have found a community to suit these needs, and I am honored to be able to run the road race to raise money for such an incredible organization. 

I am running the Falmouth road race to show Chase that there are no limits and anything is possible (with safety in mind and a factor 9 infusion on stand by). I hope you’ll consider donating to support us!
