I am so grateful and honored to run the 2026 Falmouth Road Race as part of Team Ellie! My family’s story began in 2011, when my mom, Evanne Burke, became an Ellie Fund recipient during her journey with breast cancer. After a long and courageous battle, our best friend and greatest supporter passed away far too young at just forty-four. 

Today, I run in memory of the beautiful life my mom lived and for all the life she was meant to live. I run for the birthdays she has missed, the graduations she could not attend, and the many milestones I wish she were here for. Missing my mom will forever be an understatement. Now, as a proud Ellie Fund Development Manager, knowing that each day I have the opportunity to support those in similar shoes to my mom and my family gives me a profound sense of purpose. 

I have always longed to run the historic Falmouth Road Race, as so many summers of my childhood were spent in Falmouth with my mom, from Old Silver Beach to 13 Downer Road, memories I carry forever in my heart. I also run for all the incredible, resilient women and men I know who have faced breast cancer, and for every family walking this journey. I am right there with you.

The Ellie Fund’s mission is to provide essential support services for breast cancer patients to ease the stresses of everyday life, allowing them to focus on family, recovery, and healing. Services include grocery gift cards, nutritious prepared and delivered meals, transportation to medical appointments, childcare reimbursement, housekeeping, and integrative therapy services, all provided free of charge. The Ellie Fund is proud to assist breast cancer patients receiving treatment in Massachusetts, including those traveling here for care.
