My Story…
Hi friends and family! I’m excited to announce that I will be running the Falmouth Road Race with Project Sweet Peas - a national nonprofit organization that focuses on providing support to families with premature infants in the NICU, as well as those who have been affected by pregnancy & infant loss.
The efforts of Project Sweet Peas specifically focus on providing peer to peer support, family care packages, financial family support, remembrance vigilance, and family/staff education. They also put special emphasis on sponsoring opportunities for bonding and memory making for NICU families.
As some of you may know, this is a cause near to my heart. Our daughter Elena was born prematurely at 32 weeks in August 2024, and stayed in the NICU at BIDMC for 10 weeks before joining Antonio and I (and her pups) at home on Halloween 2024. It was during her NICU stay that I was first introduced to Project Sweet Peas, and personally benefited from some of the support they offered to parents on the unit.
I’m thankful to now be “on the other side” of our NICU journey, and I hope that my contribution & involvement with Project Sweet Peas can provide other families with the hope, encouragement, and tangible resources that they may need.
I’m very grateful for any contribution you would like to make financially towards my goal, and look forward to race day!
