Help Tori raise money

I am choosing to run for Boston MedFlight due to the incredible care they provided my sister, Olivia (Livi) Messina, in August of 2024. We were on a family vacation on Nantucket, riding bikes to breakfast, when she suddenly experienced neurological symptoms. After undergoing numerous tests at the hospital, they determined Livi suffered a stroke. She was 26 with no previous medical history. 

My family was scared, confused and unsure of what the following days would look like, especially because we were on an island. Due to the advanced nature of Livi’s situation, the doctors knew they needed to act fast. Thanks to Boston MedFlight and their incredible crew, they safely flew Livi and my mom to Boston. Both Livi and my mom shared how impressed they were with the team’s ability to bring a sense of calmness and confidence during an incredibly scary time for our family. 

This is what Boston MedFlight stands for. They are the leading nonprofit critical care transport organization, meeting patients wherever they are. They lead with extreme empathy, expertise and care. 

Because of Boston MedFlight, Livi was able to get the immediate care and treatment she needed. After learning she has a genetic blood disorder and a previously undiagnosed PFO, Livi was terrified. She then underwent heart surgery to repair the PFO. 

I am beyond proud of my sister who not only overcame such adversity at just 26 years old, but is now healthy and strong and choosing to give back to the team that saved her life.
