My Story…
Most of you know I’m not exactly a runner. But this year, Kate and I are trading our comfort zones for running shoes to tackle the Falmouth Road Race. We’ve committed to raising $1,500 each for an organization that stood by us during our darkest days: Project Sweet Peas.
Our daughter, Ava, was born at just 24 weeks. She spent the first six months of her life fighting in the NICU. During that first overwhelming week, Project Sweet Peas reached out with a care package. It contained a floral blanket that served as Ava’s isolette cover and eventually became her most treasured security blanket.
But it was the smaller items that left the deepest mark. The package included "Proud NICU Parent" and "Proud NICU Grandparent" buttons. My father cherished his so much that when he passed away just a month after Ava was born, he was buried wearing it.
Project Sweet Peas provided us with hope when we needed it most. Now, it’s our turn to give back so they can continue supporting countless other families walking this difficult path.
Please help us reach our goal! Every dollar brings comfort to a family in the NICU.
